With over 160 inches of rainfall annually, Toledo district has the only true rain forest throughout the entire country of Belize, allowing for the best in jungle trekking and hiking on nature trails in search of elusive wildlife and exotic tropical flora in the back yard of Kayah & Baratunde’s Tropical Rain Forest. Join Baratunde the herbalist in his element.

Pyramid Excursion

Lubaantun: Place of the Fallen Stones. The Lubaantun Pyramids are located a mile from San Pedro Columbia Village in the Toledo District. This unique site is constructed of cut stones laid and fitted without mortar. Lubaantun was a major center of religious, ceremonial, political and commercial activities during the eighth and ninth centuries (730 A.D. – 860 A.D.). The famous Crystal Skull, carved from a single crystal of quartz, was found here in 1926.

1 Day Island Getaway

Enjoy a cool private boat ride to one of PG’s surrounding islands. Here we will swim and snorkel in crystal blue waters and partake in a tropical lunch. Another ideal option for family fun or romantic getaway.

PG Street Market & cool off in the Caribbean Sea

Punta Gorda Town is situated along the Caribbean Sea across the bay from Guatemala with the dominant Maya Mountains in the background, Punta Gorda – Locally known as “PG” it is the smallest and southernmost town in Belize. Visit the famous street market and shop for exotic local produce, souvenirs, or arrive just in time to buy the day’s fresh catch from returning fishermen. Feel free to cool off in the Caribbean Sea after a long day’s journey.

Caving & Swimming (additional expense)

Enjoy swimming in the cool & refreshing waters of the Belizean caves/cenotes and gaze at the beautiful stalactite formations. It is believed that some of these mysterious caves were once used for ceremonial purposes. Much of the geological structure of Belize is porous Karst limestone, which is ideal for the formation of underground caves and rivers. Nature Lovers will enjoy the hike through the jungle leading to these breathtaking formations and cenote.
